Howard Memorial Board Meeting
Howard Memorial Hospital Board met last night. CEO Debra Write, informed the board that the hospital had 16 COVID patients admitted in the last week. Of the 16 admitted none had received their vaccine. Data from the daily testing available at Howard Memorial shows 553 COVID tests were performed in the last week with 449 negative. Write made special note that over the weekend 179 tests were administered with 30% of those testing positive. Recent data as of August 18th shows that only 40% of residents in Howard county are fully vaccinated.
The hospital is seeking to expand its rooms with ICU capability a bid was received concerning 10 rooms for this outfit but has been put on hold to address the current HVAC systems compatibility with the Negative Pressure required for COVID compliance ICU rooms. Last the board approved for the purchase of several Telemetry monitors. Due to high demand Howard Memorial will not be able to receive the more permanent monitors until December, however thanks to board approval, a second purchase was approved to get 4 portable monitors in the hospital at a sooner date.
