Howard Memorial Hospital Board Holds Monthly Meeting, Announces Awards and Reappointments

At Tuesday’s regular monthly meeting, the Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors received important updates from Director of Quality, Risk Management, and Compliance, Beth Schooley.

Schooley shared some exciting news, noting that Howard Memorial Hospital was once again recognized among the top 100 rural hospitals by the Chartis Center for Rural Health last year. Additionally, in November, Performance Leadership Awards were announced, and Howard Memorial Hospital earned a Performance Leadership Award for “Patient Perspective,” highlighting its commitment to patient satisfaction and care quality.

Schooley also highlighted another notable achievement, reporting that Becker’s Hospital Review compiled a list of hospitals patients are most likely to recommend in every state using HCAHPS data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Howard Memorial Hospital received a prestigious five-star rating for patient recommendations, based on patients’ responses to the question, “Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?”

In other business, Dr. Carla Pumphrey presented a series of reappointments, all of which were unanimously approved by the board. These reappointments are essential for maintaining the hospital’s continued excellence in patient care and services.

The meeting highlighted Howard Memorial Hospital’s ongoing efforts to maintain high-quality care, strengthen its reputation, and ensure that the community has access to top-notch medical services.
