Howard Memorial Hospital Board Meeting
Howard Memorial Hospital board met Tuesday evening discussing a number of items. A task force within the hospital has been created to look at improving expediency within the Emergency Department. COVID protocols have made this process difficult over the last year but with the number of COVID cases having decreased within the hospital the board is looking to see improved times within all their processes regarding the Emergency Department. Debra Wright, CEO for Howard Memorial Hospital will be meeting with the recently hired CEO of the De Queen Medical Center to discuss their services to be offered once open and to better understand the correlation of care offered between the two. A change in the bylaws was approved Tuesday evening concerning Special Meetings. In order for a Special meeting to be called it now requires 2 hours notice whereas before a 5 day notice was required. And last, the board approved unanimously to begin matching its employees 401k contributions which was done away with last year due to COVID.
