HR Director of Tyson Foods speaks at Rotary meeting
Tem Gunter was the guest speaker this week at the Nashville Rotary Club meeting.
Gunter is the HR director at Tyson Foods in Nashville. He transferred to the Nashville plant in 2003, after working with Tyson at facilities in Springdale and Hope.
Gunter also serves on the Nashville School Board and the Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.
Gunter reported 1,482 team members that work in the Nashville complex, which consists of the processing plant, the truck shop, feed mill, hatchery and live production. The live production operation consists of 250 contract farmers.
The Nashville facility open in March of 1971 and as been a dedicated McDonald’s facility since 1982. They process about 960,000 birds a week. They produce 46 million nuggets a week. And, ship about 1 million pounds of product daily.
Tyson’s annual payroll in Nashville is over $45 million dollars. They also provide a lot of service to the surrounding area.
Tyson is also committed to expanding in the area. Gunter mentioned several recent expansions, as well as, future plans.
