Hutchinson issues pardon to Dierks resident

Governor Asa Hutchinson has announced plans to grant pardons to 20 state residents, including a Howard County man. Yesterday, the governor’s office said he will issue a pardon to James H. Chandler of Dierks. Chandler was sentenced in 1967, 1991, and 1997, with all convictions taking place in Howard County. The charges against Chandler have included Burglary and Larceny, Possession of marijuana and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
The governor’s office says the pardon is being issued because all terms of sentencing have been met, with no additional criminal law violations. Law enforcement is not objecting to the application.
