Investigation continues in death of local woman
Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins says the investigation into the death of a 38 year old Nashville area woman last week remains under investigation. Last Thursday, Adam Bevill reported Summer Younger had been missing since Tuesday, May 24th. Sheriff McJunkins said Younger and Bevill were involved in a relationship and lived on Blue Bayou Road.
During the investigative process, deputies and Nashville Police Department personnel checked Younger’s phone and visited with neighbors. The sheriff’s department requested searching assistance from personnel with the Center Point and County Line fire departments. Shortly after the teams began searching, Sheriff McJunkins said he was notified that a pair of tennis shoes and a cell phone had been located near the bayou, on property belonging to the Blue Bayou Church of Christ. A helicopter deployed in the search effort later spotted Younger’s deceased body on the bank of the bayou, in an area south of the church. The body was recovered by Howard County Coroner John Gray and the search team.
The body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination by the state medical examiner to determine a cause of death. If you have any information about the case, please contact the sheriff’s department, at 845-2626.
