Investigation Continues Into Shooting Incident At Delight
An incident that happened Tuesday night at the Delight EZ-Mart is under investigation by authorities.
Pike County Sheriff Travis Hill said what originally began as a road rage type situation ended with one person being shot and three other individuals going to jail.
32 year old Dionne Coulter of Prescott told police he had stopped at the convenience store to fuel up his vehicle when he was approached by two people from the earlier incident. Sheriff Hill said as the two individuals began approaching Coulter, he reached into his vehicle to grab a handgun and then fired the weapon. 27 year old Dillion VanCamp was struck in the lower leg according to the sheriff. As authorities arrived to began sorting out the situation, Coulter was placed in handcuffs and put in the back seat of a sheriff’s patrol car.
While authorities were conducting their investigation, police allege 51 year old Jeff VanCamp and 47 year old Debbie VanCamp, both of the Antoine area, entered the patrol unit and began assaulting Coulter. They were also arrested at the scene.
Sheriff Hill said the prosecuting attorney’s office has been reviewing store surveillance video before any charges are filed.
The Arkansas State Police, as well as law enforcement agencies from Clark and Nevada counties, assisted the Pike County sheriff’s office due to a large number of people who gathered following the incident.
