The Nashville Fire Department responded to a residence fire Saturday evening at 418 Jordan Road. Fire Chief Justin Thornton says the front of the house had heavy fire as fire trucks arrived on scene. The Yancey Fire Department was also paged to assist. Fire departments were on scene for about three hours and were able to extinguish the blaze. No one was at home at the time of the fire, which Thornton said appeared to have started in the master bedroom. Most of the pine wood frame house received heavy damage. The occupants are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
