Jones gives final State of the City address to Nashville City Council

On Monday, Former Mayor Billy Ray Jones made a state of address to the city of Nashville.

Mayor Jones presented plaques to the aldermen who will no longer be serving on the city council.

Aldermen who received plaques were James Parker who served for 14 years, Monica Clark who served for 15 years, Mike Milum served 12 years, and City Clerk Carol Mitchell who was a former alderman from 2007 to 2021 and as the City Clerk from 2021 to 2022. 
Mayor Jones recommended Phil Jones fill the open seat Ward 3 position 1 spot. The council approved the recommendation.
Mayor Jones also reminded the council to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Mayor-elect Mayor Larry Dunaway. The ceremony will be held in the courthouse courtroom at noon on January 2nd, 2023.
