Junior Scrappers Stay Undefeated with 44-30 Win Over Arkadelphia

The Nashville Junior High Scrappers continued their dominant season Thursday night, taking down the Arkadelphia Junior Badgers in a high-scoring battle, 44-30.
The Scrappers came out strong in the first quarter with running back Jakari Starr putting Nashville on the board early. A successful two-point conversion gave the Scrappers an 8-0 lead. Arkadelphia quickly answered, tying the game 8-8.
But the Scrappers took control in the second quarter. Starr added another touchdown, followed by a two-point run from QB Mack Arnold, extending the lead to 16-8.
Arnold then powered into the end zone himself, (SB) and Bo Dean added the two, making it 24-8. Arkadelphia fought back just before halftime to close the gap to 24-16.
The second half saw more fireworks from Nashville. Starr added his third touchdown of the night in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 32-16. After recovering an Arkadelphia fumble, Starr struck again, making it 38-16.
The Badgers responded with two more touchdowns, narrowing the score to 38-30, but the Scrappers weren’t done. Arnold sealed the deal with a fourth-quarter touchdown, putting the game out of reach at 44-30.
With the win, the Junior Scrappers improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play . This week the Junior Scrappers will travel to Fountain Lake to take on the Junior Cobras. Kickoff is set for 7pm and B99.5 will have the live coverage.
