Keep Arkansas Beautiful launches Keep Our School Beautiful program

KAB equips Arkansas students to create environmental stewardship efforts on their campuses

Keep Arkansas Beautiful (KAB) has launched its newest stewardship initiative, Keep Our School Beautiful (KOSB), a service club program designed for schools across Arkansas. KOSB aims to inspire and engage students, pre-K through 12th grade in hands-on environmental conservation and awareness projects across their campuses and communities.

“The KAB team is proud to introduce this new program to schools and students across the state,” said Colbie Jones, director of KAB. “Through KOSB, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change, fostering a sense of responsibility and pride in our communities while making Arkansas a greener, more beautiful place for everyone.”

Mirroring the mission of KAB, participating clubs will take part in recycling and awareness efforts throughout the school year, including statewide KAB programs like the annual Great American Cleanup and the Great Arkansas Cleanup. Under the guidance of KAB staff, club members will organize and lead their own initiatives, focusing on campus and community beautification, litter impact education, recycling and waste reduction projects.

“The Keep Our School Beautiful program provides a unique platform for students across the state to actively contribute to the betterment of their communities,” said Michael Barger, education coordinator at KAB. “We already have more than a dozen schools involved; I look forward to seeing the impact these programs will bring to their communities. These students are not just learning about environmental conservation, they are becoming advocates and leaders of change for our state.”

Programs like KOSB aim to impact civic pride, livability and economic growth. KAB invites school administration and students interested in enrolling their own KOSB club to register here.
