Ribbon cutting ceremony held at Murfreesboro City Hall

A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday morning at the Murfreesboro City Hall has Kinetic Internet recognized Murfreesboro as a Gig-Ready Community.

City Recorder/Treasurer Penny Lamb welcomed Pike County Judge Eddie Howard, Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce Lisa Harvell and other local dignitaries in the absence of Mayor Jim O’Neal.

Dave Faggard of Kinetic Communications explained that to reach the Gig-Ready status, a community must have greater than 75 percent access to Kinetic’s Generation Gigbit Internet service. He also explained what that means for the citizens of Murfreesboro.

Kinetic is a Windstream company and offers fiber-based broadband to residential and small business customers in 18 states.
