Nashville Woman Charged With Filing A False Report

Sevier County authorities have charged a Nashville woman with filing a false police report. Sheriff Robert Gentry said 31 year old Casey Parker was arrested Tuesday on the felony charge. Sheriff Gentry said Parker had reported the previous day her vehicle was stopped on Highway 70, east of the Highway 71 intersection. Deputies say Parker reported the stop to the sheriff’s department as someone impersonating a police officer. According to the sheriff, a statewide alert was issued for the individual described by Parker. As deputies continued their investigation Tuesday, they were informed Parker had fabricated the story as a prank. She was taken into custody and was held in the Sevier County Jail pending the setting of a bond.

Sheriff Gentry said law enforcement personnel take reports of police impersonation very seriously. Agencies from several counties spent numerous hours investigating the reported incident and the sheriff said anyone who calls in a false complaint will be dealt with accordingly.
