Labor Day Holiday to Impact Trash Collection Schedules

With Labor Day falling on Monday, September 2, government offices will be closed in observance of the holiday. The holiday will also affect local trash collection schedules.

In Howard County, trash routes will be a day behind. Thursday and Friday routes will run on Friday next week.

For residents in Pike County’s rural areas, trash collection will experience a one-day delay throughout the week. Collections will shift one day later than usual due to the holiday.

Residents are advised to adjust their schedules accordingly and place their trash out for pickup on the revised days to ensure timely collection.
