Large Meth Bust Near Hope Leads to Arrests After Multi-Agency Investigation

A major drug trafficking investigation led to the seizure of a large quantity of methamphetamine near Hope.

Investigators say that in November 2025, authorities received information indicating methamphetamine was being trafficked through Texarkana. A joint operation was launched involving the Arkansas State Police, Texas Department of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the 8th North Narcotics Task Force.

During the investigation, a suspected vehicle was stopped at a weigh station near Hope. A search of the box truck revealed approximately 620 pounds of methamphetamine hidden among 10 tons of fresh limes.

Authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs at $28.1 million.

Two individuals were arrested in connection with the traffic stop and have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine. The investigation remains ongoing.
