Legacy Boys Gives Trinity Christian first Conference Defeat

LOCKESBURG, ARK— Legacy secured a big win at home Friday night against Texarkana’s Trinity Christian, who was previously undefeated In conference play. The Lockesburg team played consistent all night and closed the game out in the fourth corner. The game was tied at the end of the first quarter with 17 points for both teams. Trinity outscored the home team 16-13 in the second quarter, going to half time with a 33-30 lead. Both teams came out of the locker room strong in the third quarter, but Trinity bested Legacy 23-19 for the quarter giving them their largest lead of 7 points going into the final quarter of the game. Legacy rallied and fought back to outscore Trinity 26-12 in the 4th for a 75-68 victory. Ethan Gallagher led the scoring for Legacy’s Warriors with 36 points and 17 rebounds. DJ Morris contributed strongly to the team’s victory with 17 points and 17 rebounds; while Freshman Layne Schroer contributed 16 points and 15 rebounds. This gave Gallagher, Morris, and Schroer all a double-double for the game! Zack Graph dominated the court for Trinity with 47 points, followed by Nate Wall with 15.
Lockesburg’s Lady Warriors faced Trinity’s senior girls’ team in what opened up as a very contested first half! Trinity outscored Legacy 10-8 in the first quarter, while both teams put ten points on the board in the second quarter. The home team trailed by 2 at halftime. Trinity found their groove in the third quarter, going on a 13-5 run, which shifted the momentum squarely to their corner. The home team kept fighting but was again outscored 14-10 in the 4th–losing by 14. Grace Tucker had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Trinity Cox also secured a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Hannah Mae Morris provided the home team 9 points. Jordan Dougon gave Trinity Christians 18 points, followed by Lodi Williamson with 14.
Legacy secured a decisive victory over Trinity 37-18 in junior girls action. Oaklee Lofton led with 11 points, followed by Hannah Mae Morris with 9. Skylar Alexander and Olivia Lofton both provided 5 points, while Gabby Haarmeyer, Josie Martz, and Lillie Tucker also scored. Martz and Alexander had 8 rebounds, followed by Morris and Jesse Martz with 6. Jordan Dougon scored 9 for Trinity.
