Legacy Defeats Eagletown 68-61 Lady Warriors lose 58-48

LOCKESBURG, ARK—Legacy Academy of Lockesburg and Eagletown split game Tuesday night in senior high basketball action. The Lockesburg team defeated Eagletown 68-61. It was a rough start for the home team. Eagletown outscored the Warriors 18-8 in the first quarter and again 16-12 in the second. The Oklahoma team was leading by 14 at the half. By the middle of the third quarter the visitors were up by 25 in what looked like a sure defeat for Legacy. The Warriors began a strong rally at that point, finally outscoring the team in a quarter 21-15. The Warriors sealed the game in the 4th quarter by scoring 27 points to Eagletown’s 12. Ethan Gallagher scored 44 points for the Lockesburg team with 34 of those in the second half. Gallagher also had 14 rebounds, 8 steals, and 4 assists. DJ Morris contributed 15 for the Warriors, had 9 rebounds, and three assists. Eagletown’s Gunner Fartley dominated the inside much of the game with 25 points for the Eagles. 20 of those came in the first half. Ben Hudson provided twelve points for the visitors.
The Lady Warriors and the Lady Eagles put on a great game for fans from both sides tonight in senior girls action. Eagletown outscored the Lady Warriors 34-24 in the first half. The Lady Warriors rallied strongly in the third quarter outscoring the visitors 18-10, narrowing Eagletown’s lead to 1 by the start of the 4th quarter. The Lady Eagles turned up their game putting twelve more points on the board in the final quarter than the home team. This gave the visitors a 58-48 win over the Lady Warriors. Grace Tucker was the high scorer with 21 points, Dori Bartek and Oaklee Lofton both provided 9 points, and Trinity Cox scored 7. Jaiden Lane and Megan Price both scored 16 points each for the Lady Eagles, while Kaydence England gave the visitors ten points. Tonight’s games began with a gift presentation and a special salute from the school to its founders, Chad and Jessica Gallagher in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary today.
Legacy Academy is right back in action on Thursday night when all four of their teams take the court. The junior high teams and the Senior Lady Warriors play Mt. Pine, while the Senior boys will take on Mineral Springs. The first game begins at 4pm with the junior girls playing.
