LEGACY TEAMS SWEEP FOUR GAMES IN SEASON OPENER

It was a four game sweep for Legacy Academy in their season opener against Victory Christian of Camden. The Lockesburg teams played at home for a cheering crowd of supporters. The Senior boys opened their game with a commanding 23-6 lead in the first quarter. The Warriors kept their lead and ended with a decisive 65-35 victory. With the full bench getting playing time, Ethan Gallagher led with 29 points, followed by Eli Hamilton with 8 and 7 other players getting on the board. It was a triple double for Gallagher, who also had 18 rebounds, 10 steals, and six assists. 

In senior girls’ action the Lady Warriors defeated their Camden rivals 38-11. Dori Bartek gave 16 points, Josie Martz contributed 7 and 6 other girls also scored for the Lady Warriors. The Lockesburg team came out strong and commanded the first quarter with a 17-1 lead. At the half, they enjoyed a 26-4 lead. Junior high basketball opened the night ahead of the senior high games. The home team’s junior boys coasted to a 47-19 win with Brayson Talley giving the team 14 points, followed by James Bartek with 8, and five other junior Warriors getting on the board. Talley, Everrette Martz, and Jude Gallagher each had four rebounds. Legacy’s junior girls’ team defeated their opponent 19-7. Jesse Martz led scoring with 9 points and Libbie Bartek provided the ladies 8. The teams are again in action Friday night on the road when the junior girls, senior girls, and senior boys will take on the Oden Timberwolves.
