Local Police Departments hosting 40th Annual NNO Event
On tomorrow, August 1, 2023, neighborhoods throughout Mineral Springs and Hope are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “40th Annual National’s Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Mineral Springs Chief of Police Francisco Mercado talked about how National Night Out got started and how he got involved with this event.
Mercado provided some more details of the National Night Out event.
Mercado even gave special thanks to the ones that play a part in this event.
National Night Out in Mineral Springs will take place at Bridgeman Park, located at 100 Bridgeman Dr from 6pm to 8pm. And National Night Out in Hope will be from 5pm to 8pm and will be held at the Hope Fairground Pool located at 800 South Mockingbird Ln. There will be free hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy and more and anyone that would like to participate in the Hope Area can contact Community Outreach Officer Justin Dean at 870-722-2556.
