Lockesburg resident charged with felony charges

Felony charges have been filed in Howard County related to a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred last fall. 34 year old Brandi Turner, of Lockesburg, was charged yesterday with Negligent Homicide, 2nd Degree Battery and Driving While Intoxicated. Police reports relating to the October 17th accident said Turner was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe along Highway 27 near Mineral Springs, when her vehicle crossed the center line, striking two other vehicles. 58 year old Tony Ray Young, of Mineral Springs, was the driver of one of those other vehicles. He died as a result of injuries received in the head on accident. A juvenile male passenger in Young’s vehicle also sustained injuries in the accident.
Prosecutors allege Turner’s blood alcohol content was at, or above, the .08 legal limit at the time of the wreck.
If found guilty of the Negligent Homicide charge, Turner could spend five to twenty years in prison and be fined up to $15,000 dollars.
The charges against Turner were filed yesterday in Howard County Circuit Court.
