Mabelvale man arrested in Pike County

33-year-old Rickey Garza of Mabelvale was arrested last month when Deputies of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office were contacted on Saturday April 13th by someone who reportedly told officers that there was a sex offender at the dance at the Kirby High School.

According to the affidavit, the incident was under investigation by Deputy Chance Reid and Reid learned that Garza was a level 3 sex offender and had not notified the Kirby School in writing that he was a registered sex offender nor gotten permission to be at the dance. Reid also reportedly learned that the Daisy State Park Superintendent Randy Hainen escorted Garza outside until deputies could arrive. 

As reported, once Deputy Reid arrived at the Kirby School, he explained to Garza that he was out of compliance with his sex registry. Garza was then placed under arrest and transported to the Pike County Jail. Garza was charged with being a registered offender prohibited from entering upon the school campus.
