Man Wanted on Hope Rape Charge Arrested in Texas

A man wanted by the Hope Police Department on a rape charge has been arrested in Texas following a multi-state search involving federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
According to authorities, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Lance Brewer on Tuesday evening in Texarkana, Texas. Brewer was wanted on an arrest warrant obtained by the Hope Police Department on May 12, charging him with one count of rape.
After the warrant was issued, Hope Police requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to locate Brewer. Investigators say the search lasted several weeks and spanned multiple states.
On June 2, Brewer was located at a residence in Texarkana and taken into custody. The arrest was carried out with assistance from the Hope Police Department, the Eastern District of Texas U.S. Marshals Service, the Texas Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security.
Brewer was arrested on the outstanding Arkansas warrant and is expected to face the charge in Hempstead County.
The U.S. Marshals Service said its fugitive task forces bring together federal, state and local agencies to locate and arrest wanted suspects and reduce violent crime through coordinated enforcement efforts.
