Marion Named City Employee Of The Year
Monday, the elected officials of the City of Nashville hosted an appreciation luncheon for the employees of the City.
Department heads presented reports and announced their employees of the year.
Mayor Billy Ray Jones gave a State of the City address and stated the city’s 51 employees did an excellent job overcoming several difficulties and none bigger than the flood that hit Southwest Arkansas this past July. Jones also stated if the city did not endure another natural disaster next year would be a better year financially for the City of Nashville.
Jones also introduced Police Chief Amy Marion as the City Employee of the Year.
The Nashville City Council will meet Monday, December 30th at 6:00 PM in the City Council room and they are expected to vote on a proposal from Mayor Jones concerning the city employees health insurance benefit. The public is invited to attend all council meetings.
