McCaskill Resident Facing Charges In Hempstead County

A McCaskill resident is charged in connection with a commercial burglary that occurred last month in Hope.  20 year old Mahli DeAngelo Smith has been charged with felony counts of Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property.  Authorities say Smith was involved in the break in at a Hope jewelry store. 

Business owners said the break in and theft happened sometime during the evening hours of January 3rd to the early morning hours of January 6th.  A 9mm pistol, flat screen tv, Ipad and a smartphone were taken from the store’s office. 

Smith’s bond was set at 50 thousand dollars.  He is scheduled to appear in Hempstead County Circuit Court February 26th.
