McDonald appointed new Pike County Coroner

A new coroner has been named for Pike County. During a special meeting of the quorum court Thursday afternoon, Pike County j.p.’s voted to appoint Jerry Jason McDonald to fill out the office’s remaining term through the end of this year.
The coroner’s vacancy was created by the resignation of Hannah Pate at the end of last year.
Yesterday’s vote was unanimous, with Justice Paul Baker absent.
