Miller named Nashville Firefighter of the Year
Several Nashville firemen have been honored for their service. Zachery Miller has received the department’s highest award, Firefighter of the Year, for 2020. The award is determined by a vote of department personnel. Chief Justin Thornton said Miller has done well since joining the fire department in May of last year. According to the fire chief, Miller takes his job very seriously and continues to train to make himself better. Chief Thornton said Miller is an asset to the department and citizens of Nashville.
Two firemen received honors for 25 years of service. Jimmy Mixon was given a service pin and Hayden Worthington, who has retired from the department year, was presented a plaque & service pin.
Royce Miller received the Officer’s Choice Award, which is determined by the Chief, Asst. Chief, and the department’s three Captains.
Miller has been with the department five years.
Kelly Hostetler received the department’s Attendance Award for attending the most calls and drills during the year.
