Mineral Springs Board Meets For June Session

Monday night, the Mineral Springs School Board voted to buy out Thelma Forte’s remaining contract. Forte was suspended with pay on July 8, 2019 by a 4-3 vote.

Following the vote to buy out Forte’s contract, board members voted to hire interim superintendent Billy Lee to be the next superintendent of the district on a two year contract per the salary schedule.

Lee told Southwest Arkansas Radio that he was excited to be working in the Mineral Springs school district.

Board members also accepted the resignation of one teacher and a testing coordinator and hired Christy Terrell. Lee said with the hiring of Terrell, the district is completely staffed at the current time.

Board members also voted to update the salary schedule and renewed two CDs.
