Mineral Springs City Council
Mineral Springs met in a special called session Monday evening to discuss the purchase of a new trash truck. A representative from River City was present virtually giving Council members the options available. After considering both an 11 yard and 20 yard option the Council agreed upon the 20 yard truck. This would allow the city of Mineral Springs to move to once a week pickup helping to decrease labor cost and truck wear and tear. Due to supply and demand the estimated arrival of a unit isn’t until August of 2022. The approximate cost of this truck is $170,000.
After an executive session Deenise Juniel was announced to be filling the city’s Recorder Treasurer position previously temporarily filled by both Juniel and Kathy Jones. This marks the first time that all Mineral Springs City Council Positions have been filled since the abrupt exit of former Mayor Steve Dixon and former Recorder Treasurer April Teague in the same week.
