Mineral Springs City Council Considers Working with Premier Broadband to provide faster internet
Kevin Bridges with Premier Broadband spoke to the Mineral Springs City Council about putting their antennas on the city’s water towers.
Bridges said they use LTE frequencies and offer 25 Megabytes down and 5 Megabytes up. He said they will have about a 3 mile radius.
Alderman Earle Haddan made a motion to allow Premier Broadband to install their equipment but it died for lack of a second.
Alderman James Jeanes asked questions about how many hours the city clerk works each week, unsightly properties throughout the city, and employee’s using city trucks for personal use.
Jeanes also made a motion to purchase a camera system to inspect the city’s sewer system. The motion passed.
William Tabler asked why the city paid for the installation and maintenance of lift stations on private property.
Mayor Steve Dixon reported he and the water superintendent would review the city’s sewer tap ordinance and act accordingly.
