Mineral Springs City Council Holds Monthly Meeting

Work on the Mineral Springs water tower project is expected to begin next month. During Monday’s June city council meeting, aldermen were told bids on the project were opened in early May. A Georgia company submitted the low bid of 513 thousand dollars.

In addition to the tower painting, the city is also in the process of installing a backup generator at the fire station. Mayor Steve Dixon said the concrete pad has been poured and the generator should be completely installed next month.

Council members are considering a reduction in the cost to obtain a peddlers permit. Under the current ordinance, the fee for a permit is 150 dollars. Aldermen tabled the matter until next month’s council meeting.
