Mineral Springs City Council Holds Special Meeting Following Recorder/Treasurer Resignation

The Mineral Springs City Council held a special called meeting last night, where Mayor Bobby Tullis informed the council that Recorder/Treasurer Denise Juniel has resigned from her position, effective November 5, 2025.

Following the announcement, Mayor Tullis told council members that Juniel’s name would need to be removed from all city bank accounts. After brief discussion, Aldermen Charles Deloney and Earle Hadden made a motion to remove her name from the accounts. The motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Tullis also informed the council that the city is currently under a special investigation, though he said that was all he was at liberty to discuss at this time.

Tullis added that the city will have two part-time positions open — one for Treasurer and one for Recorder. He explained that the person hired as Recorder will also learn Treasurer duties in order to fill in when needed.

The mayor said he has already received some interest in the open positions and plans to advertise the job openings as soon as possible.
