Mineral Springs City Council Looks At Water Rate Increase

The Mineral Springs City Council is considering a water rate increase. During Monday’s council meeting, aldermen were in agreement that a raise is needed due to normal operating expense increases along with special projects ongoing that include the water tower painting and the possibility of the town getting a new sanitation truck. The current rate is ten dollars for the first two thousand gallons. Council members are proposing to raise the rate to 15 dollars. A public meeting on the rate increase is scheduled for February 24th at 5:30.

In other business Monday, council members tabled any action on acquiring a new sanitation truck. They also put off a decision on the future of the Spring Lake Park until the summer.
