Mineral Springs City Council to purchase generator using general funds and American Rescue funds

Mineral Springs City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday. 

Mineral Springs Fire Chief Chris Hostetler reported the department had two drills and they responded to six calls. He said they responded to three 1st responder calls, two brush fires, and one house fire. Hostetler said that they are currently taking their annual classes this week.

Mineral Springs Chief of Police Francisco Mercado reported that his department had two speeding citations, 1 failure to yield citation, and there were no criminal citations. Mercado also talked about the 4 felony arrests that took place on October 11th.

Treasurer Denise Juniel made a suggestion to split the price of the generator, which is $68,668.21, between the American Rescue Fund and the Water & Sewer Fund instead of taking the whole amount from the General Fund. There was a 4 to 1 vote on taking half from the American Rescue Fund and the remainder from the Water & Sewer Fund.
