Mineral Springs Council Approves Online Payments, Credit Card Limit and Direct Deposit Option

The Mineral Springs City Council held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, with several financial and personnel matters discussed and approved.

During the meeting, the council approved a resolution authorizing Financial Secretary Stephanie Harrison to pay certain city-related bills online.

The payments include business insurance companies that provide coverage options to city employees who pay the premiums themselves through payroll deductions. Those companies include Colonial Life Insurance, Aflac, Liberty National and Family Heritage.

Harrison will also facilitate online payments for Emergency Solution, which provides the city with a response master reporting system, and Vivint, the security system installed by the city.

Harrison told the council that the city has reapplied for a credit card through Diamond Bank and that the council needed to approve a $10,000 credit limit.

Harrison also presented information regarding an option to offer direct deposit to city employees.

Following further discussion, the council approved the $10,000 credit limit for the city’s credit card and approved offering employees the direct deposit option.

The council also discussed qualifications for the city’s Parks Director position. Officials said they plan to advertise the job opening in the near future.
