Mineral Springs Council Approves Ordinances, Resolutions During Monthly Meeting

The city council in Mineral Springs approved several ordinances and resolutions during their regular monthly meeting Monday night.
Aldermen voted to adopt Ordinance 419, which increases mileage reimbursement, Ordinance 420 concerning elected officials’ salaries, and Ordinance 421 regarding electronic payments.
Council members also approved several resolutions. Among them was a resolution to add an artificial intelligence policy to the city’s employee handbook. Another resolution approved the state audit with a requested update requiring the council to be notified when two outstanding loans are repaid to the city.
According to Financial Secretary Stephanie Harrison, one loan in the amount of $225 is owed to the city by an employee, while another loan totaling $4,300 also remains outstanding and is owed to the city.
Additional resolutions approved during the meeting included adopting the city’s 2025 balanced budget, authorizing the city’s fire department to apply for a 50/50 grant, and approving another resolution related to electronic payments.
During the meeting, the council also entered into executive session. When members returned to open session, no action was taken.
