Mineral Springs Council OKs Interlocal Court Agreement and City Operations Changes

The Mineral Springs City Council met on Monday, January 12, 2026, and approved several ordinances and resolutions during the meeting.

Council members approved an ordinance for an interlocal agreement between Howard County and the cities of Dierks, Mineral Springs, and Nashville regarding the District Court. The motion passed with a motion by Alderman Frankie Harris and a second by Alderman Earle Hadden.

The council also approved an ordinance transferring operations of the Mineral Springs Cemetery from the City of Mineral Springs to a newly established Cemetery Board/Committee. Board members include Wendy Haddan, Stephanie Harrison, and Pamela Whisenhunt. The transfer was approved retroactively to March 27, 2024, the original date of the transfer. The motion was made by Alderman James Jean and seconded by Alderman Frankie Harris.

In additional business, council members approved a resolution to employ Wendy Haddan as Safety Director for the City of Mineral Springs. Her duties will include holding monthly safety meetings, presenting short job-related safety presentations, and serving as a liaison between the city and the State Safety Commission Officer. The resolution was approved retroactively to November 1, 2024, her original date of employment. The motion was made by Alderman Frankie Harris and seconded by Alderman Vanessa Hendrix.

During department reports, Fire Chief Chris Hostetler told the council his department responded to 120 calls for service in 2025, which he said was about the same number as in 2024.

Mayor Bobbi Tullis also announced that the council will conduct a budget review during their February meeting.
