Mineral Springs Man Arrested in Murfreesboro Burglary

A 36-year-old Mineral Springs man was arrested on July 15 after allegedly breaking into a home in Murfreesboro, according to police records.
At approximately 8:47 P.M., Officer T. Lauterbach responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on Worrell Street. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, identified as Timothy Spencer, under the carport alongside the residents.
The homeowner told authorities they returned around 8:40 P.M. to find Spencer inside their home, standing in the dining room and holding a handgun by the barrel. The firearm was reportedly taken from a drawer in the master bedroom. Spencer was also wearing the homeowner’s shoes and had allegedly consumed food and a beverage from the kitchen.
Spencer was detained without incident and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. A background check revealed he has a criminal history, including two felony convictions for Battery in the Second Degree from 2021 in Howard County.
Spencer was charged with residential burglary, possession of firearms by certain persons, and theft of property.
