Legacy Warriors Sweep Cornerstone Christian in Three Games

Lockesburg, AR–Legacy Academy hosted Cornerstone Christian junior girls, junior boys, and senior boys basketball teams tonight and swept the evening with three wins at home in Lockesburg. In senior boy action, the home team defeated the visitors 65-25. Legacy took command of the court immediately and held the lead all night. Ethan Gallagher and DJ Morris led the scoring for the Warriors with 23 and 11 points, although only playing the first quarter. Benjamin Lovell, Layne Schroer, and Joshua Tucker all led with 6 rebounds each for the Lockesburg team. The Warriors are now 3-0 in their second week of play.
Legacy’s junior girls defeated Cornerstone’s girls 30-20 with all of the home team’s players getting ample playing time. Lilly Tucker was the high scorer of the night with 11 points for the home team, while Alina Perry led the visitors’ team with 10 points. Tucker and Hannah Mae Morris each grabbed six rebounds for the Lady Warriors. Libbie Bartek delivered 4 assists. The victory brought the team a 2-0 record as they ease into the full season.
Lockesburg’s junior boys also secured a victory tonight 37-10 over Cornerstone, with 7th graders Jude Gallagher and Monolo Vasquez leading the team’s scoring with 8 points each. Eli Mitchell and Malachi Davis rebounded the ball six times each for the team. Mitchell also provided the team with 4 assists for baskets tonight.
Both boys’ teams will be back on the court on Thursday at home In Lockesburg with games beginning at 5pm. The junior boys will face Umpire, while the senior boys will face Ambassador Baptist Academy of Malvern.
