Mineral Springs School Board Approves 2025-2026 Calendar, Staff Changes, and Salary Amendments

The Mineral Springs School Board held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening, addressing several key agenda items including the 2025-2026 academic calendar, staffing changes, and salary schedule amendments.

Superintendent JonDavid Amerson presented the proposed calendar for the 2025-2026 school year, which the board unanimously approved. Amerson noted that the district plans to remain on this calendar cycle for at least the next two years.

In other business, the board approved a motion for three students to transfer out-of-district. The students will transfer into the Nashville School District. They also voted to rehire all classified staff for the upcoming school year.

The board approved several personnel changes, including the retirement of longtime employee Christine Green and the resignations of Coach Dre Lawson and Amanda Woodley. New hires include James Motley for the high school, Diana Ramirez and Sandra Hernandez as elementary teachers, Darren Horne for high school social studies as well as football and track coaching duties, Amber Jackson in a part-time business role, and Charles Gulley as a bus driver.

Superintendent Amerson also presented amendments to the district’s salary schedule for the board’s consideration.

Following the presentation and discussion, board member Ricky Gamble made a motion to approve the amended salary schedule, which was seconded by Xavier Vaughn and passed unanimously.
