Mineral Springs School Board Approves Audit Report, Salary Modifications and Technology Purchase

The Mineral Springs School Board approved several agenda items during their regular monthly meeting held Wednesday, including the district’s legislative audit report, salary schedule modifications and the purchase of new Apple technology products.

Board members began the meeting by approving the minutes from the May 26 meeting on a unanimous 5-0 vote.

District Treasurer Frankie Tollett presented the district’s financial report. According to the report, the district’s legal fund balance without certificates of deposit totaled $1,459,734.17, while the legal fund balance with CDs stood at $1,533,181.40. The district’s total all-fund balance was reported at $2,282,594.80. The board approved the financial statement as presented by a 5-0 vote.

Superintendent JonDavid Amerson reviewed the district’s Legislative Audit Report, which showed one supplemental coding error and no audit findings. The board unanimously approved the report.

The board also approved modifications and corrections to the district’s salary schedule. Amerson explained that the School Resource Officer position for the 2026-27 school year was adjusted to a 210-day contract to provide coverage for summer events. Additional modifications were made to the Technology Assistant position for the 2025-26 school year. The changes were approved unanimously.

In other business, the board approved the purchase and lease of Apple products for the 2026-27 school year. Amerson told board members that some teachers’ iPads will be exchanged for MacBook Neo devices as part of the technology upgrade.

The board also discussed employee disclosure documentation. However, Amerson informed members that the necessary paperwork had not been completed. As a result, the item was tabled until next month’s meeting.

All motions presented during the meeting passed by unanimous 5-0 votes.
