Mineral Springs School Board approves lease agreement with the city
The Mineral Springs School District held their regular monthly meeting Monday.
During the meeting, Superintendent Billy Lee discussed employee Christmas Bonuses to the board. Lee said that they have budgeted money this time for it, and it was cut back from $750 dollars to $500 dollars which will be for classified and non-classified teachers. Lee’s only recommendation to the board was to issue these bonuses out towards the end of December before going on the holiday break. There was motion made by Mike Erwin and seconded by Ray Hawkins to approve the Christmas bonuses. All were in favor of the motion.
Lee also presented to the board a new credit card machine policy that will give the district the ability to use a credit card machine at school functions. Lee also added that they’ve purchased a credit machine for the FACS Class that’s offered at the high school. MS High School Principal JonDavid Amerson said the best part is this will give the kids something to learn and learning how to use these machines is something that students need to know.
After further discussion, there was a motion made by Ray Hawkings and seconded by Barnardo Thomas to approve the credit card machine policy. In conclusion, the board approved a motion to agree to the terms of the 5-year lease agreement with the city of Mineral Springs for the use of the baseball field for one dollar. All were in favor of those motions.
