Mineral Springs School Board Approves New Hires, Staff Rehires, and Salary Updates

The Mineral Springs School Board met in regular session Tuesday, April 28, 2026, approving several personnel and financial items ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.

Among the key items on the agenda was the approval of new hires. Principal Stacy Gaddis recommended Patricia Fulton for an elementary teaching position and Jace Amerson for a technology assistant role. Following a motion by Ray Hawkins and a second by Xavier Vaughn, the board voted unanimously, 6-0, to approve both hires.

The board also approved the rehire of classified staff for the upcoming school year. Superintendent Amerson presented the recommendation, which was met with a motion from Ray Hawkins and a second from S. Kay Slaton. The measure passed unanimously, 6-0.

In addition, board members reviewed and approved modifications to the district’s salary schedule for the 2026–2027 school year. Superintendent Amerson outlined the proposed changes before Barnado Thomas made a motion to adopt the updates, seconded by Xavier Vaughn. The board again voted 6-0 in favor.
