Mineral Springs School Board Approves New Hires, Technology Services in Special Session
The Mineral Springs School Board met in special session on Tuesday, to address key staffing and technology decisions for the upcoming school year.
Board President William Dixon called the meeting to order and a quorum was established with board members William Dixon, Dorothy Vaughn, Ricky Gamble, and Barnado Thomas present. Members Mike Erwin, Ray Hawkins, and Xavier Vaughn were absent.
Superintendent JonDavid Amerson presented a list of personnel recommendations for the 2025–2026 academic year. The proposed hires included Alice Nicole Martin for High School Math and coaching duties, America Pulido-Rojas for an elementary teaching position, Richard Smith for High School Health/P.E. and coaching, and Amy Westfall-Chambers as K–12 Counselor.
Following the recommendation, board member Barnado Thomas made a motion to approve the hires as presented. The motion was seconded by Dorothy Vaughn and passed unanimously, 4-0.
The board also reviewed a bid for technology support services under the Management Network System. Superintendent Amerson recommended approving a bid from White River Services & Solutions for the 2025–2026 school year. The board approved the bid with a motion from board member Thomas, seconded by Gamble, which also passed 4-0.
The meeting concluded with no further business on the agenda.
