Mineral Springs School Board Discusses Financials and Title 1 Funding at December Meeting
The Mineral Springs School Board met on Tuesday for their regular monthly meeting, where several key updates were shared, including financial reports and details about the district’s Title 1 funding for the 2024-2025 school year.
Business Manager Frankie Tollette presented the district’s financial standing for November. The balance without Certificates of Deposit (CDs) was reported at $2,310,775.77, while the balance with CDs included was $2,382,378.32. The district’s total funds balance stood at $3,339,288.02.
Principal Stacey Gaddis then updated the public on the Annual Title 1 Funds. Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), schools are required to hold an annual meeting with Title 1 families to discuss the school’s participation in the program, its requirements, and the rights of parents and families. Title 1 funds are primarily used to support smaller class sizes, hire additional staff, provide extra teacher training, and fund extended instructional time, including before- and after-school programs.
Gaddis shared that for the 2024-2025 school year, Mineral Springs School District received $245,276.49 in Title 1 funding. The district has developed a Schoolwide Program, which means these funds will be spent on supplemental staff, instructional materials, and teacher professional development.
A portion of the Title 1 funds—$8,000—has been allocated to support parent and family engagement activities, which Gaddis emphasized as essential for the success of both students and schools.
To close her report, Gaddis reminded attendees that the Parent and Family Engagement Plan policy is available on the district’s website at www.msisd.net. Additional data reports, including state, district, and school-level information, are also available at myschoolinfo.arkansas.gov/SRC.
The meeting highlighted the district’s ongoing efforts to support students, families, and educators with critical funding and community involvement.
