Mineral Springs School Board

News from Mineral Springs School board meeting Monday evening. The board voted and approved a number of items including compensation for extra duties to include both certified and classified staff. This compensation is only for days spent in the classroom with the students and is as follows: Certified staff will be receiving $20 per day worked in person for a maximum total of $3,560. Classified staff will be receiving $11 per day worked in person for a maximum of $1,936. The total cost to the school district is $277,112 and will be funded using the available $1.6m in Esser funds from the government. Also, the board motioned to approve, pending further details, an upgrade to LED lighting in the remaining portions of the school where such an upgrade hasn’t already been made. The proposed cost for this project is $56,646.93 where as the annual savings by making this upgrade will equate to roughly $16,000 annually. Paying its value back over the course of roughly 3 ½ years.
