Mineral Springs School District Principals discuss handbook changes

Mineral Springs School Board discussed student handbook changes at their regular monthly meeting last week.

Principal JonDavid Amerson discussed the changes to dress code at the Mineral Springs High School along with how he had a handout that shows the students what is appropriate and what is not.

Amerson said there’s been changes to the cell phone policy as well. Amerson stated that he reached out to the parents and did a survey to get their feedback on the changes.

Amerson talked about the reason for the change and how he hopes this change keeps improving the school academically but hopes to put a stop to constant battles with the use of cell phones during school hours.

There was a motion made by Ray Hawkings and seconded by Ricky Gamble for the approval of the student handbook changes for the 2023-2024 school year.
