Mineral Springs Superintendent Resigns

The Mineral Springs Board of Education met Monday night and accepted the resignation of Superintendent Curtis Turner, Jr and bus driver Samantha Humphries.

Turner’s resignation will be effective at the end of December. According to a district staff member, interviews of candidates are expected to begin within a few weeks.

Board members voted to hire Robert Bullock to replace Humphries.

The board approved the district’s financial statement, which shows an all-fund balance of $5,984,336.61.

A change the district’s salary schedule was approved which includes increasing the minimum wage for hourly employees to $10 per hour beginning January 1.
