Mitchell introduced as new CHO of HMH

Paula Mitchell was introduced at this week’s Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors meeting as the new Chief Nursing Officer.

Mitchell started on July 18. She was the Senior Director of Critical Care Services with oversight for 120 staff members at a specialty hospital and prior to that she was an Associate Professor of Nursing in a university setting. Mitchell has also been an Assistant Director of Emergency Services. Mitchell and her family moved to Murfreesboro this year from Monroe, Louisiana.

Board members were informed that the position of family medicine physician will more than likely be filled by June of 2023 by a physician completing their residency.

Board members also approved the purchase of the Skills for Success program by Dale Carnegie. The cost of the program was $28,000.
