MS City Council passes ordinance to establish a police department
The Mineral Springs City Council held a meeting on Monday night.
With a vote of 4 to 2 the Mineral Springs City Council passed the Police Ordinance establishing a police department. The ordinance states the police chief is the head of the department and he will report to the city council once a month. The department will consist of 3 full time law enforcement officers.
Marks talked about the problems the city has been having with the sewer pump. She suggested that the Mineral Springs city council vote to purchase a generator just in case there are any issues with the power. The generator would turn on to keep the pump running.
All were in favor of the purchase.
