MS Police Department hires new officer; receives LLEB grant
Monday night, Mineral Springs Chief of Police Fransico Mercado provided his monthly report to the Mineral Springs City Council.
In his report, Mercado stated his department wrote one citation for speeding and made one felony arrest in August. He also informed the council that he had hired a new full-time officer. The new officer is Alex Gamble. Gamble is the former School Resource Officer for the Mineral Springs School District.
Mercado also reported his department had received a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant in the amount of $3,000.
